I hope by starting this blog that great things can happen. Not necessarily to me per se but to people and the world. I hope that I can bring a different and new perspective to current events, perhaps even events in your lives. I hope that my journey in life can help others to overcome the adversity in their lives. Perhaps most importantly I hope to bring a voice of reason to what appears to be an unscrupulous world that celebrates evil and promotes bad. This brings me to my point of this blog post, apparently filmmaker Roman Polanski believes that he has paid his debt to society even though he hasn’t served any time in prison. Approximately 30 years ago, he drugged and raped a 13-year old girl. Between the conviction and the sentencing (which he pled guilty to) he skipped town to Paris, France. Now he wants to fight extradition to the United States and to not pay for his crime. According to one of his friend Otto Weisser “He’s a brilliant guy, and he made a little mistake 32 years ago…” Are you kidding me? Did he just say “little”? Since when does rape qualify as a “little” mistake? I think that they both should receive a lesson in what is right and what is wrong. It is this type of attitude that undermines the justice system and also keeps people that have been raped from reporting it. Here is the link to the article for your perusal:

Apparently by the way CNN is covering the story, they are on his side. Interesting. I thought news media was supposed to be at least a little unbiased.
I was reading even further and found the following article on MSN, it seems to be a little more grounded and seems to be consistent with my thinking. Now mind you I took their poll and apparently 65% of the people that took the poll agree with me. That isn’t to say that I am positively right, it’s just that how can people honestly believe that what he has done is right?
