Blue and Gold Success

So many of you who follow my blog, know that I was recently called as Cub Scout Master for my ward and have been working at my calling for a few weeks now. I have to say I love my calling. It is fun and exciting and it seems that there is never a dull moment. This past Friday we had our Blue and Gold Banquet which for those of you who aren’t involved in Cub Scouts is the annual banquet that celebrates the birthday of the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts were founded in 1910 and the Cub Scouts were founded in 1930. It was sort of a trial by fire because it was my first everything. I didn’t even know the boys to whom the awards and cakes belonged. I spent the whole evening trying to get my Cub Scout legs under me so to speak. It was fun to get to see them in their uniforms and even one boy begged his mother to buy the cake that he made. It was pretty cute. I am however grateful that it is over. We were able to pay for over half of the Cub Scout Camp that is coming up in June. This next month (i.e. tomorrow) we are going to be having our Pinewood Derby, which is going to be so cool! I’m planning on making a really good one to inspire the boys. I am happy to kind of get back to normal (okay there is no normal but still). I have a test tomorrow in my Law Enforcement class. It should be fairly interesting.

I received the books I ordered from LSAC and I am now working my way through them. The questions are interesting. I like how challenging they are yet how commonsensical they are as well. They are just difficult enough to make you think but not so difficult that you can’t get through them in a reasonable time. I’m sure that once I take the prep-test under normal circumstances that it will be a bit different but so far so good.

I also stumbled upon an amazing Blackberry theme website, it is Matt Ginsberg.net. I was lurking around Crackberry.com and found this guy that does sports themes (which I am a die-hard Chargers fan and a die-hard Padres fan) so I am getting a couple of themes that look amazing! I highly recommend doing business with him. His themes are very high quality and his prices are very reasonable. I don’t normally do endorsements but I thought I would send him a little praise for someone who finally has a product worth getting. So many of the things out there for the Blackberry are superfluous that it is crazy, but he has themes for all occasions and even an amazing one for the United States Marine Corps. Now I may not always agree with the agendas set forth by those in power however I will always support the men and women that dedicate their lives to ensuring our freedom and the freedom of others. The theme he has done certainly gives the honor and respect that they deserve.
