I have fought the good fight and I can do no more

I have done all that I can do, I have filed petition after petition. I have even written the President of the University to which I received a call from the Vice President of Student affairs. I have met with the head of academic advising, all to no avail. I have even sent letters to the local news stations, to which I have received no response. I am stuck with their decision. The irony of the situation is that now that the class has had its first session they are down…

The War on drugs, waste of time? No kidding, really!

I was reading an article on the war on drugs that started with the Nixon administration and it discussed how the U.S. is losing the war on drugs and well frankly, is this surprising to anyone? The problem is that the war on drugs does not address the problem, it merely addresses the symptoms. To put it in simple terms drugs are like a cold and the war on drugs is like cold medicine. It only takes care of the symptoms and well right now the cold is winning. So the question is why is…

Violence for Social Change

Violence as a means for social change is difficult to comprehend. The very essence of social change is to make society different even better at points; regardless of the causes, violence seems to only make it worse. Whether it is life, liberty or property someone always loses something when violence is employed. If all other non-violent options are exhausted and violence is the only means to bring about the needed changes then the violence is immeasurable in value. The Boston Tea Party was one such…

American Civil Liberties Union

The American Civil Liberties Union or ACLU is currently working to help maintain the constitutional rights that are given to all people through legislation and through defending individual’s whose rights have been infringed. They work within the legal system through civil procedures to procure the rights of all American’s regardless of the person’s agenda or political standing. According to the ACLU’s website,

It’s not the racism you see, it’s the racism that you don’t

Ever told a blonde joke? How about a racist joke? How about ever used a racial epithet in anger? Ever made a stereotype or generalization about a particular group of people based upon what you “know”? Many people only consider the overt forms of racism as racism; they think the hate groups are the only ones who are racist or bad. But what about those people that aren’t overtly racist but instead are covert about their racism? These are just a few ideas of how people can be racist without even knowing it.

It’s no coincidence and the bourgeois bureaucrats at CSUSM know it!

Most people don’t know that CSUSM’s official full-time status is significantly lower than the financial aid status that is considered full-time. Accord to CSUSM full-time is anything over 6 units, however the required units for full-time for financial aid and many insurance companies is 12 units. So the fact that CSUSM has limited once again students to only 13 units is no coincidence. They make no additional money off of students if they take more than 12 units. Financial aid and any aid from the state and or federal government does not increase if you take more than 12 units.…

Arizona Immigration Law

The upcoming Arizona Immigration Law is severely flawed. It criminalizes to an extreme level those who have entered the country without wading through the mound of paper work and dealing with the obscenely long waiting period. What it doesn’t do is address the fundamental causes of undocumented workers. Currently the immigration system is set up to only “allow” a select few of individuals that are lucky enough to win the immigration lottery. Why is the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness criminal? It is the basis for which this country was founded; we of all people should be embracing individuals from…
