The story of Abinadi is one of my favorite accounts in The Book of Mormon. Abinadi was a prophet of God called to preach the gospel to King Noah and his people. King Noah was a very wicked king who had set up his own religion that would allow him to do as he pleased. They would flatter him and tell what he was doing was right even when it was wrong.
